While studying maths for my undergraduate and masters degrees at Cambridge, I was always interested in practical applications of the maths that I learned. This is what led me to do a PhD in machine learning at Oxford. My current research interests fall broadly under scaling up probabilistic inference, that is, methods of learning probabilistic models efficiently in big data settings.
