William Seymour
Computer Scientist
I’m a DPhil researcher in computer science, and a part of the Centre for Doctoral Training in Cyber Security. My research explores the ethical design of smart devices in the home, sitting at the intersection of computer science, philosophy, and design. I study how people make sense of complex technological artefacts, as well as how and concepts from philosophy can be used to guide the development of future smart home devices. Before coming to Oxford I studied for an MEng in Computer Science at the University of Warwick.
